Memorandum - Travel Updates

Sep. 11, 2020

TRAVEL AND BILLET UPDATES

We have been approved by Sask Health to allow players some minimized travel as we move into our Fall Development season.  Travel will need to be approved on a case by case basis and programs will need to submit a list of players registered that need to travel to attend their fall programs/camps to the SLA for approval.   Players will need to meet the following requirements to be reviewed travel:

  1. There is not a program of the same caliber players can attend in their community.
  2. Players are attending the next closest program based on KM to their registered MA. (ex.  Player from Prince Albert can not choose to go to a program/camp in Regina if there is one offered in Saskatoon).
  3. Travel is kept within reasonable distance.    Sask Health does not advise players consistently traveling from one end of the Province to another even if that is the next closest location.  If this situation does arise, the SLA will review with Sask Health on a case by case basis.

Billeting is currently not an approved option for players.  The SLA is working hard to develop policies and procedures over the next two months that would allow Billeting in a safe manner for all involved.
